Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the America, Europe and the major economies - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Regional authorities said the urban area came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were wounded.

The attacks follow periods of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Government officials told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
